A law firm seeks a motivated and skilled IP Litigation Associate to join their dedicated Intellectual Property team. This position, based in Atlanta, offers the chance to work on complex IP litigation cases while collaborating with a team of experienced professionals. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience handling intellectual property litigation and possess a strong understanding of protecting and enforcing clients' IP rights.

Duties:

  • Manage all phases of IP litigation cases, from initiation to resolution, including conducting legal research and drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates, discuss litigation strategies, and manage client expectations.
  • Represent clients in federal and state courts, including during hearings, trials, and appeals.
  • Collaborate with technical experts, witnesses, and other stakeholders to strengthen litigation strategies.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations to resolve cases effectively and in the best interests of the client.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 3-5 years of experience in IP litigation, with a particular focus on handling office actions.
  • Strong proficiency in legal research and use of legal research tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal matters clearly.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities independently or as part of a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Membership in the Patent Bar (preferred).
  • Technical background in science or engineering is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Expertise in handling both patent and trademark litigation matters.
  • Proficiency with IP litigation software and tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Independent work ethic with a collaborative mindset.
