Mid-level IP Litigation (Life Sciences) Associate

Job Overview:
A globally recognized law firm is seeking a Mid-Level IP Litigation Associate to join its Intellectual Property Litigation team. This position is ideal for attorneys with 3–5 years of experience representing innovator pharmaceutical and biotech companies in patent litigation matters. The role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative and international environment, focusing on complex and high-profile life sciences IP disputes. This position is being recruited on behalf of the law firm by a legal recruiting agency.

Location:

• New York, NY

Duties:

• Represent innovator pharmaceutical and biotech companies in high-stakes IP litigation

• Handle matters involving Hatch-Waxman and/or BPCIA litigation

• Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and memoranda

• Conduct legal research and prepare legal analyses

• Participate in discovery, depositions, and court appearances

• Collaborate with U.S. and international teams on global litigation strategies

• Communicate effectively with clients, experts, and team members

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of relevant IP litigation experience (class years 2020–2022 preferred)

• Strong background in representing life sciences clients

• Experience with Hatch-Waxman and/or BPCIA litigation is preferred

• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple deadlines

• Excellent legal writing and research capabilities

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school or equivalent LLM

• Strong academic performance required

Certifications:

• Admission in good standing to the Bar of the jurisdiction where the attorney will practice

• Willingness and eligibility to become admitted in New York, Massachusetts, or D.C. (if not already)

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of IP law as it pertains to the life sciences industry

• Degree in chemistry, biology, or a related life sciences field preferred

• Excellent analytical, communication, and client service skills

• Ability to collaborate across teams and jurisdictions

• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and proactive
