Job Overview: A law firm in Boston, MA, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with a minimum of 3+ years of experience to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal counsel and representation to clients in civil litigation matters, focusing on the legal collection process. They must demonstrate strong advocacy skills in and out of court while maintaining integrity and achieving results.

Duties:

  • Conducted thorough and practical assessments and advised clients during legal collection.
  • Advocate for clients in and out of court, focusing on continuous quality work product and performance.
  • Communicate with opposing counsel and pro se parties to resolve disputes and negotiate matters to an amicable resolution.
  • Draft and review legal briefs, correspondence, pleadings, and other documents.
  • Document account/file activity by firm and client policies and procedures.
  • Research and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations, formulating legal opinions for review.
  • Maintain and develop client relationships through responsive communication.
  • Attend continuing education classes, webinars, and seminars to remain current on legal changes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Qualified attorney admitted within the state of Massachusetts and Federal Court of Massachusetts.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience.
  • Knowledge of state civil litigation process.
  • Ability to collaborate with others and utilize resources effectively.
  • Superior time management skills and ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership skills to drive and motivate other employees.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Strong negotiation and listening skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to customer service.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Experience in the commercial collection industry is a plus.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Massachusetts State Bar.
  • Admission to the Federal Court of Massachusetts.
