A law firm specializing in employment law seeks an experienced Employment Attorney to join their team in New York. The ideal candidate will possess strong research, writing, and analytical skills along with a solid academic background. The role primarily involves drafting and reviewing employment contracts, providing employment counseling, leading EEO charge responses, and handling employment litigation matters. Active NY Bar admission or eligibility for admission is required.

 

Duties:

  • Drafting and review of employment contracts including separation agreements, non-competes, and executive employment agreements
  • Creation and review of employee handbooks and policies
  • Providing employment counseling and conducting employment transactional due diligence
  • Leading EEO charge responses with minimal oversight
  • Handling employment litigation cases including wage and hour disputes, employment discrimination, and non-competition litigation

 

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in New York or eligibility to become admitted to the NY Bar
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in employment law
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with employment laws and regulations
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Admission to the New York State Bar Association or eligibility for admission

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
