A law firm in Denver, CO, is seeking a Construction Defect Litigation Attorney with 5-10 years of civil litigation experience. The ideal candidate will handle client coordination from initial representation letters through trial, expert selection and coordination, drafting and responding to pleadings, as well as defending and taking depositions. Strong attention to detail and familiarity with technology are essential for this role.

 

Duties:

  • Coordinate with clients from initial representation letters through trial proceedings.
  • Select and coordinate expert witnesses for cases.
  • Draft pleadings, discovery requests, and motions related to construction defect litigation.
  • Respond to opposing party pleadings, discovery requests, and motions.
  • Defend and take depositions of witnesses, experts, and parties involved in litigation.
  • Prepare cases for trial, including conducting pre-trial preparations and strategy sessions.
  • Act as first or second chair during trial proceedings.
  • Ensure strong attention to detail in all aspects of case management and legal work.
  • Preferably represent individuals and small businesses rather than insurance companies and large corporations.
  • Utilize technology effectively for case management and presentation in court.

 

Requirements:

  • Admission to the Colorado Bar.
  • 5-10 years of civil litigation experience.
  • Experience in construction defect litigation, general construction, commercial litigation, and/or real estate law.
  • Deposition and trial/arbitration experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working with technology for case management and legal research.

 

Education and Certifications:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
