Senior Insurance Coverage Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a Senior Insurance Coverage Litigation Associate Attorney with 6+ years of insurance litigation experience. The ideal candidate will possess excellent academic credentials and strong skills in drafting pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents, as well as conducting discovery and analyzing insurance coverage disputes.

Duties:

• Draft complex case evaluations, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
• Handle all aspects of litigation from inception through trial and appeal, where relevant.
• Conduct and respond to discovery requests, including document production, written discovery, and depositions.
• Collaborate with clients, witnesses, experts, and other counsel throughout the litigation process.
• Analyze insurance coverage and extra-contractual disputes, including drafting coverage opinions and other analyses.
• Demonstrate superior organizational and time-management skills.
• Utilize excellent interpersonal, networking, and business development skills.
• Exhibit strong writing and case management abilities.
• Handle direct communication with clients and adversaries.
• Provide oral advocacy in court proceedings.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• 6+ years of insurance litigation experience.
• Admission to practice law in the District of Columbia, or eligibility to waive into the DC Bar pursuant to DC Court of Appeals Rule 49.
• Good standing with the DC Bar, or eligibility for immediate admission or waiver.
• Clerkship experience in Federal District Court or Appellate Court is a plus.
