A law firm in Fullerton is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will be results-driven, possess excellent communication skills, and have experience in or a desire to become experienced in the consumer collection industry.

 

Job Overview:

The Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing thorough assessments and practical advice while advocating for clients during the legal collection process. They will draft legal documents, communicate with clients, and handle all aspects of a case's litigation life cycle. The role requires superior time management skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.

 

Duties:

  • Advocate for clients in and out of court during the legal collection process
  • Communicate with opposing counsel and pro se parties to negotiate resolutions
  • Draft and review legal briefs, correspondence, pleadings, and other documents
  • Document account/file activity in accordance with firm and client policies
  • Travel to various courts and effectively handle all aspects of a case's litigation life cycle
  • Research and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations
  • Communicate with clients to maintain and further develop relationships
  • Attend continuing education classes to stay informed of legal changes
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • Experience in consumer collection litigation preferred
  • Knowledge of civil litigation process and state and federal consumer protection laws
  • Superior time management skills and ability to manage priorities effectively
  • Leadership skills and ability to motivate other employees
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

 

Education:

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Admission to the California State Bar

 

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing
