Associate Attorney for Fullerton office

A law firm in Fullerton, CA, is seeking an Associate Attorney who is results-driven and experienced in or has the desire to become experienced in the consumer collection industry. The candidate will provide thorough assessments and practical advice, advocate for clients in and out of court during the legal collection process, and maintain integrity while achieving results in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:

• Provide thorough assessments and practical advice to clients in the consumer collection industry.
• Advocate for clients in and out of court during the legal collection process.
• Draft and review legal briefs, correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents.
• Communicate with opposing counsel and pro se parties to resolve disputes and negotiate matters to an amicable resolution.
• Document account/file activity in accordance with Firm and client policies.
• Travel to various courts in the State and effectively handle all aspects of a case's litigation life cycle.
• Research and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations, and formulate legal opinions for review by a supervising attorney.
• Communicate with clients in a responsive manner to maintain and further develop client relationships.
• Attend continuing education classes, webinars, and seminars to remain current on changes in the law.

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in California with no discipline history.
• Experience in consumer collection litigation preferred.
• Advanced knowledge and a thorough understanding of the consumer collection industry's legal and regulatory framework are preferred.
• Knowledge of the civil litigation process and state and federal consumer protection laws.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in California.
