Job Overview:

A well-established immigration law firm in San Jose, California is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Immigration Attorney to join its growing practice. This leadership-level position offers a unique opportunity to manage a diverse caseload, mentor junior attorneys, and collaborate with a dedicated team on complex removal defense and USCIS matters. Location:

  • San Jose, California

Duties:

  • Represent clients in immigration court and before the Board of Immigration Appeals, including detained and non-detained individuals

  • Prepare and review immigration applications, including family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, naturalization, and other USCIS filings

  • Conduct client intake assessments and provide consultations on strategic legal options

  • Draft and file legal motions, briefs, and supporting documentation

  • Prepare clients and witnesses for USCIS interviews and court hearings

  • Monitor and manage active caseload, ensuring timely filing and communication

  • Supervise and collaborate with junior attorneys, legal assistants, and support staff

  • Stay current on immigration laws, regulations, and relevant policy updates

  • Liaise with law enforcement, government agencies, and community partners as needed

Requirements:

  • 5–8 years of experience practicing immigration law

  • Proven track record in removal defense and family-based immigration matters

  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with minimal supervision

  • Experience in mentoring or supervising legal team members (preferred)

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred, not required)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active and in good standing with a U.S. state bar

  • California Bar membership preferred or eligibility to waive in

Skills:

  • Exceptional oral and written advocacy skills

  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities

  • High-level interpersonal communication and client relations skills

  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines under pressure

  • Familiarity with legal case management software (preferred)
