Job Overview

A law firm seeks a finance associate to join its Project and Energy subgroup, focusing on energy transition financing matters. This position is based in New York, NY, and offers the opportunity to work on internationally recognized projects, including innovative financing deals in the energy transition sector.

Duties

• Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
• Draft well-reasoned legal documents, including briefs, motions, and contracts.
• Assist in managing complex cases and transactions from inception to resolution.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing timely support and advice.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative case strategies.
• Participate in high-level legal activities such as court hearings and negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with legal standards and stay updated on legal precedents.
• Engage in professional development to enhance legal and leadership skills.
• Contribute to firm programs, civic organizations, and pro bono work.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience in energy transition finance matters.
• Experience with financing and M&A of energy transition projects and companies.
• Proven experience in tax equity and renewable energy tax credit monetization.

Education

• JD degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice in the state of New York.
