A law firm in Houston is seeking a Project Finance Associate Attorney with a strong background in debt finance and experience in the energy industry. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience, with a focus on project finance in renewables and conventional power, and additional experience in project development and M&A.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal support and advice on project finance transactions in the energy sector.
  • Draft and negotiate project finance documents, including loan agreements, security agreements, and intercreditor agreements.
  • Conduct due diligence on project finance deals, including reviewing financial documents and conducting legal research.
  • Assist clients in structuring and closing project finance transactions.
  • Advise clients on regulatory and compliance issues related to project finance in the energy industry.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, lenders, and government agencies.
  • Stay informed on developments in project finance law and industry trends.
  • Assist with other legal matters related to project development and M&A as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of energy industry experience.
  • Strong background in project finance, including renewables and conventional power.
  • Experience with debt finance transactions.
  • Additional experience with project development and M&A is a plus.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Texas or eligibility for admission.

 

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of project finance principles and transactions.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
