Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Employment Attorney - Partner in Los Angeles, CA. The role involves defending employer clients in employment litigation and responding to administrative charges. Candidates with wage and hour experience are preferred but not required.

Duties

  • Defend clients in employment-related claims.
  • Investigate claims, analyze liability, and develop strategies.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Draft letters, memos, motions, and pleadings.
  • Prepare discovery requests and take/defend depositions.
  • Represent clients at court conferences, hearings, and mediations.
  • Communicate regularly with partners, associates, and clients.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Current California bar admission, in good standing.
  • Significant employment litigation experience required.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
  • Team player with strong personal interaction skills.
  • Self-starter with organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Understanding of state and federal procedures.
  • Comfortable with court appearances and depositions.
  • Trial experience preferred but not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • California bar admission, in good standing.
