A law firm in Harrisburg, PA is seeking an experienced Tax Attorney with a strong background in tax and transactional matters. The ideal candidate will have expertise in mergers and acquisitions, multistate tax issues, federal, state, and local tax controversies, global transactions, restructurings, as well as private equity and venture capital. The position requires additional experience in due diligence reviews, federal and state tax incentives, technical research, tax return compliance, and employee benefits.

 

Duties:

  • Manage tax and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, multistate tax issues, federal, state, and local tax controversies, global transactions, restructurings, private equity, and venture capital.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews, ensuring comprehensive assessments of tax implications in various transactions.
  • Provide expertise in federal and state tax incentives, offering strategic advice to clients.
  • Conduct technical research on complex tax issues and provide sound legal opinions.
  • Handle tax return compliance matters and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Possess experience and interest in continuing or building a practice around tax matters.
  • Represent public and private organizations with local, national, and multinational operations.
  • Prior employment in a law firm environment is particularly favored.

 

Experience:

7-10 years of law firm or clerkship experience.

 

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in tax and transactional matters.
  • Prior experience in mergers and acquisitions, multistate tax issues, federal, state, and local tax controversies, global transactions, restructurings, private equity, and venture capital.
  • Strong background in due diligence reviews, federal and state tax incentives, technical research, tax return compliance, and employee benefits.
  • Proven track record of representing public and private organizations with local, national, and multinational operations.
  • Previous employment in a law firm environment.
  • Admission to practice in the state.
  • Excellent academic background.
