A law firm is seeking a Junior-Mid Level Benefits Associate Attorney with the following qualifications and responsibilities:

Job Overview:

The Junior-Mid Level Benefits Associate Attorney will support benefits and compensation matters, including qualified retirement plans, health & welfare plans, and executive & deferred compensation arrangements. The ideal candidate should possess excellent legal analysis, writing, and communication skills, along with the ability to work well independently and within a team.

Duties:

  • Provide legal support and counsel on benefits and compensation matters, including qualified retirement plans, health & welfare plans, and executive & deferred compensation arrangements.
  • Assist in benefits and compensation aspects of M&A transactions.
  • Handle ERISA litigation and withdrawal liability matters (experience in these areas is a plus).
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on benefits and compensation issues.
  • Draft legal documents, including plan documents, summary plan descriptions, and employee communications.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff on various legal matters.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of benefits experience in private practice.
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Detail-oriented with strong writing, oral advocacy, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with tact and discretion.
  • Confidence in identifying and analyzing legal issues and initiating solutions.
  • Agility in responding to unexpected challenges and maintaining composure.

Education and Certifications:

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Skills:
