Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to provide legal support to clients and assist Partners in handling litigation cases. The successful candidate will maintain a caseload of litigation files, research complex legal issues, prepare and argue motions, and actively participate in all aspects of litigating cases, including depositions, mediation, and trial preparation. Strong communication, analytical, critical reasoning, and interpersonal skills are essential for maintaining client relationships and preparing legal reports and documents. The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice law in Georgia and have 3-10 years of litigation experience, preferably with an insurance defense or civil litigation background.

Duties:

  • Maintain a caseload of litigation files and manage/meet all deadlines
  • Research and brief complex litigation issues
  • Prepare and argue motions
  • Take an active role in litigating cases including depositions, mediation, and trial preparation
  • Maintain client relationships
  • Prepare legal reports and documents

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in Georgia
  • 3-10 years of litigation experience
  • Experience in insurance defense or civil litigation preferred
  • Strong communication, analytical, critical reasoning, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work within a team in a fast-paced environment

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Georgia State Bar or ability to gain admission upon hiring
