Job Overview:
A law firm in Boca Raton, FL, is seeking a skilled Civil Litigation / Insurance Defense Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal counsel, conducting research, preparing legal documents, and representing clients in various legal proceedings.

Duties:

  • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of senior attorneys.
  • Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients.
  • Communicate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently.
  • Maintain client files to ensure up-to-date information is available to other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Florida Bar Admission.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Great time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with others.
  • Must meet expectations for billing goals.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of civil litigation and insurance defense procedures.
  • Familiarity with relevant legal software and tools.
  • Ability to handle a high caseload efficiently.
