Job Overview: A law firm in New York City, NY, is seeking a highly experienced Partner/Senior Associate Attorney with a strong background in trial litigation, particularly in personal injury and automobile negligence actions. The ideal candidate will possess extensive trial experience, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload from inception through trial and appeals.

Job Duties:

  • Handle assigned high-volume caseload independently and with supervision from inception to trial and appeals.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands, etc.
  • Take depositions, make court appearances, engage in necessary motion practice, and expert retention.
  • Develop internal and client strategies and execute agreed-upon strategy promptly.
  • Comply and follow workflow specific to individual client needs.
  • Analyze extensive medical records and other relevant documents for each action.
  • Analyze insurance policies and draft insurance coverage opinions.
  • Perform extensive legal research and jury verdict searches.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with clients, including compliance with all client guidelines.
  • Ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Accurately record and maintain billable hours.
  • Mentor junior associates and delegate work as necessary.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience as a trial lawyer with more than ten (10) verdicts in personal injury and automobile negligence actions.
  • Experience with UM/UIM, PIP, and defending other civil actions.
  • High motivation, flexibility, initiative, and ability to manage a litigation caseload.
  • Significant trial experience and ability to manage all discovery and motion practice aspects.
  • Exercise good judgment in a variety of situations.
  • Strong and professional communication skills.
  • Friendly and outgoing demeanor.
  • Experience in defense litigation.
  • Settlement experience through negotiations, arbitrations, and mediation.
  • Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Admitted to practice in the State of New York and United States District Court for the District of New York (NY, PA, and/or CT admission is a plus).
  • Additional Federal Court experience is a plus.
