Restructuring Associate Attorney

A law firm is seeking a Restructuring Associate Attorney for its office in New York City, NY.

Job Overview:

The Restructuring Associate Attorney will provide legal counsel and representation in corporate restructurings and bankruptcy proceedings. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in Chapter 11 cases, representing debtors and creditors and demonstrate the ability to manage multiple significant matters concurrently while collaborating within a team environment.

Duties:

• Represent clients in corporate restructurings and bankruptcy proceedings.
• Provide legal counsel on Chapter 11 cases, including advising debtors and creditors.
• Manage and oversee multiple significant matters simultaneously.
• Conduct legal research and analysis related to restructuring and bankruptcy laws.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and agreements.
• Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
• Attend court hearings and proceedings as required.
• Assist in negotiations and settlements.

Requirements:

• 3-4 years of experience in restructuring and bankruptcy law.
• Experience with Chapter 11 cases representing debtors and creditors.
• Exceptional academic credentials from a reputable law school.
• Comparable law firm experience is required.
• Clerkship experience preferred.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility for admission.
• Any additional certifications related to bankruptcy or restructuring law are advantageous.
