A law firm in Rogers is seeking an experienced Environmental Attorney with at least 5 years of experience in environmental law. The candidate will provide legal counsel on a wide range of environmental matters, including advising on mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, permitting issues, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance.

 

Duties:

  • Interface regularly with colleagues across offices and practice groups, as well as engage directly with clients.
  • Advise on matters related to mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, tax credits, and financing transactions.
  • Handle permitting issues associated with stormwater, air, and water emissions.
  • Provide guidance on risk mitigation strategies and compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations.
  • Address emerging contaminants and advise on renewable energy projects.
  • Navigate matters related to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and pollution legal liability insurance.
  • Draft legal documents, conduct legal research, and represent clients in negotiations and proceedings.

 

Requirements:

  • Law degree (JD) from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 5 years of environmental law experience in the public and/or private sector.
  • Experience with federal environmental laws and standards, including CERCLA, NEPA, RCRA, TSCA, FIFRA, CWA, and CAA.
  • Transactional experience, including mergers and acquisitions.
  • Familiarity with state and local environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with pollution legal liability insurance and prior defense sites preferred.
  • Portable business is preferred.

 

Education:

Law degree (JD) from an ABA accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

 

Skills:

  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to advise on complex environmental matters.
  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents.
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding of environmental regulations and their implications on business transactions.
  • Client-focused approach with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Business development skills are advantageous.
