Duties

• Defend healthcare providers, hospitals, and institutions in medical malpractice litigation
• Lead all phases of litigation, from initial evaluation through discovery, motion practice, trial, and appeal
• Represent clients in court appearances, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations
• Prepare and review legal documents, including pleadings, expert reports, and trial briefs
• Work closely with expert witnesses to develop case strategy and testimony
• Supervise and mentor associate attorneys and support staff
• Maintain strong client communication and manage expectations throughout the litigation process

Requirements

• 13 years of experience in medical malpractice defense litigation
• Demonstrated success in managing complex caseloads independently
• Extensive trial and courtroom experience in New York State and federal courts
• Strong familiarity with healthcare liability law, procedural rules, and expert discovery
• Proven ability to build and maintain client trust and professional credibility

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active and in good standing with the New York State Bar
