Job Overview: A law firm seeks a dedicated Workers' Compensation Attorney to represent clients at all stages of their claims, providing legal counsel, litigation, and advocacy in Durham, NC.

Job Duties:

  • Represent clients' interests throughout all stages of their claims, including client communication via in-person meetings, telephone conferences, and during litigation proceedings.
  • Review and analyze medical evidence, records, legal documents, statutes, and case law pertinent to workers' compensation cases.
  • Engage in legal writing and research tasks, including drafting motions, responses, briefs, and appeals.
  • Litigate claims across various stages, including administrative hearings, evidentiary hearings, and appeals.
  • Conduct trial advocacy by taking testimony of witnesses, conducting discovery, mediating claims, and guiding clients through the litigation process.
  • Mentor and collaborate with other members of the workers' compensation team.

Requirements:

  • Membership and good standing with the NC State Bar or eligibility for waiver.
  • Preferred experience in litigation.
  • Familiarity with workers' compensation laws and regulations is advantageous.
  • Experience in client interaction and management.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the North Carolina State Bar.
