Complex Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a skilled and experienced Complex Litigation Attorney to join its Hartford, CT office. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience handling a broad range of complex litigation matters, including insurance defense, construction, bankruptcy, and/or commercial litigation. This is a full-time opportunity to join a collaborative team of legal professionals handling high-stakes cases with precision and professionalism.

Location:

• Hartford, Connecticut

Duties:

• Manage and litigate complex legal matters across areas such as insurance defense, construction disputes, bankruptcy proceedings, and commercial litigation

• Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery requests

• Conduct legal research and analysis of statutes, case law, and precedents

• Prepare and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials

• Maintain detailed case documentation and client communication

• Collaborate with partners and legal staff to develop litigation strategies

• Represent clients in state and federal court proceedings

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in complex litigation

• Demonstrated background in one or more of the following areas: insurance defense, construction law, bankruptcy, or commercial litigation

• Ability to manage multiple cases with varying deadlines and complexity

• Proven litigation skills, including motion practice and courtroom advocacy

• Strong client service orientation and professional demeanor

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the state of Connecticut

Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong legal research and analytical capabilities

• Skilled in drafting pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a legal team
