A law firm is seeking a Senior Intellectual Property Associate Counsel with expertise in organic chemistry or a related field. The ideal candidate should possess strong academic credentials, exceptional research, writing, and communication skills, and be admitted to practice in the relevant jurisdiction and before the USPTO.

 

Job Duties:

  • Drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the fields of synthetic organic chemistry, biochemistry, and pharmaceutical sciences.
  • Conducting patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
  • Providing legal advice and strategic counsel on intellectual property matters.
  • Managing patent portfolios and overseeing IP litigation when necessary.
  • Collaborating with clients to develop IP strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Conducting due diligence reviews for IP transactions.

 

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. or master’s degree in organic chemistry or a related field.
  • Admission to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Admission to practice before the USPTO.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications.

 

Education:

Ph.D. or master’s degree in organic chemistry or related field.

 

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Admission to practice before the USPTO.

 

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of synthetic organic chemistry, biochemistry, and pharmaceutical sciences.
