A law firm located in Chicago is seeking a Biotech Patent Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience in the intellectual property field. The ideal candidate will be registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office for a minimum of three years and possess strong writing, analytical skills, superior academic credentials, and a technical background in biology, genetics, cell biology, microbiology, molecular biology, or a related field. Duties:

  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications in the biotechnology field.
  • Conduct patentability, validity, and infringement analyses.
  • Provide opinions and client counseling on patent matters.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, patent examiners, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on case strategy and legal analysis.
  • Stay updated on developments in biotechnology and patent law.
  • Assist with intellectual property due diligence and licensing agreements.
  • Manage a caseload of patent matters efficiently and effectively.

 

Requirements:

  • Advanced technical degree in biology, genetics, cell biology, microbiology, molecular biology, or a related field (desirable).
  • Registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office for a minimum of three years.
  • 3+ years of experience in the intellectual property field, including patent application preparation and prosecution.
  • Strong writing and analytical skills.
  • Superior academic credentials.

 

Education:

Advanced technical degree in biology, genetics, cell biology, microbiology, molecular biology, or a related field (desirable).

 

Certifications:

Registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
