Family Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A growing Virginia-based law firm is seeking full-time Family Law Associate Attorneys to join its Fairfax office. This position offers the opportunity to handle a variety of domestic relations cases while receiving mentorship and training from experienced litigators. Location:

• Fairfax, VA

Duties:

• Represent clients in family law matters, including:

  • Divorce

  • Child custody and child support

  • Adoptions

  • Protective orders

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and agreements

• Appear in court for return hearings, pretrial conferences, and motions

• Maintain client communication and manage case timelines

• Collaborate with legal team members on case strategy and filings

• Manage a caseload with attention to deadlines and client satisfaction

Requirements:

• Active membership in the Virginia State Bar (or pending results from the Virginia Bar Exam)

• Interest in litigation and family law

• Strong communication skills for courtroom and client interaction

• Reliable transportation for in-person court appearances

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Virginia State Bar (required or expected shortly)

Skills:

• Excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills

• Effective time management and organizational abilities

• Proficiency in legal research related to family law topics

• Spanish language skills preferred but not required

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
