A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Mid-level Corporate Associate Attorney with 5+ years of experience, ideally possessing a broad corporate background with familiarity with private credit and mezzanine debt. Experience with Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) funds is preferred, and the candidate must be admitted to the Illinois Bar.

Duties

  • Corporate Transactions: Manage and assist in various corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and financings.
  • Private Credit and Mezzanine Debt: Utilize expertise in private credit and mezzanine debt transactions.
  • SBIC Fund Experience: Apply knowledge and experience in working with SBIC funds.
  • Legal Consultation: Provide legal advice and support on corporate matters.
  • Document Drafting and Review: Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents related to corporate transactions.
  • Due Diligence: Conduct due diligence for corporate transactions, ensuring legal compliance.
  • Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients to understand their business needs and provide strategic legal solutions.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of broad corporate experience focusing on private credit and mezzanine debt.
  • SBIC Funds: Experience with SBIC funds is preferred.
  • License: Admission to the Illinois Bar.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.): Degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications
