Fund Formation/Investment Management Associate Attorney

A law firm is seeking a Fund Formation/Investment Management Associate Attorney for their Chicago office. The Associate Attorney will play a pivotal role in the Fund Formation & Investment Management (FFIM) Practice Group, contributing to various aspects of fund structuring, management, compliance, and client interaction.

Duties:

• Structuring and formation of investment funds
• Negotiating side letters and secondary sales
• Registration and compliance under the Investment Advisers Act
• Drafting and reviewing complex legal documents
• Managing projects and transactions efficiently

Requirements:

• JD from an ABA-approved law school
• Active member in good standing of the Bar in relevant jurisdiction(s)
• 2-5 years of experience in fund formation and investment management
• Strong document drafting skills
• Comfortable with direct interaction with senior partners and clients
• Positive attitude and exceptional work ethic
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Education & Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-approved law school
• Admission to the Bar in relevant jurisdiction(s)

Skills:

• Solid fund formation and investment management experience
• Proficiency in fund and management structuring
• Negotiation skills for side letters and secondary sales
• Knowledge of Investment Advisers Act compliance
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage complex projects and transactions efficiently
