A law firm is seeking a Renewable Energy Project Development and Finance Associate Attorney in Jackson. The Renewable Energy Project Development and Finance Associate Attorney will work with clients in the clean energy industry on various projects across the United States. They will handle agreements related to project development, finance, mergers & acquisitions, and commercial contracts, utilizing strong written and oral communication skills.

 

Duties:

  • Work with clients in the clean energy industry on project development and finance matters
  • Handle agreements related to power purchase agreements, company or asset purchase and sale agreements, hedge contracts, equipment supply contracts, and construction contracts
  • Provide legal advice and support on renewable energy projects
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements on behalf of clients
  • Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff on renewable energy projects
  • Keep abreast of legal developments in the renewable energy industry

 

Requirements:

  • 2-7 years of law firm experience in project development, finance, mergers & acquisitions, and commercial contracts
  • Experience working in the renewable energy industry preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the state Bar

 

Skills:

  • Experience with power purchase agreements and other renewable energy contracts
  • Strong understanding of project finance and commercial transactions
  • Excellent negotiation and drafting skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing
