Job Overview:

The Emerging Company and Venture Capital Associate Attorney will play a crucial role in providing legal support to the firm's clients, primarily focusing on emerging companies and venture capital matters. The role requires a proactive and business-savvy individual with a strong commitment to delivering excellent client service.

Duties:

  • Handle legal matters related to start-ups, emerging growth companies, venture capital financings, and public offerings.
  • Manage domestic mergers and acquisitions transactions, particularly for startup companies and investors.
  • Effectively communicate complex legal matters in both oral and written form.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients and counsel.
  • Demonstrate an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset, contributing to the firm's forward-thinking approach.
  • Take on increased levels of responsibility for transactions, displaying a strong work ethic and a team player attitude.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of significant experience in emerging companies and venture capital work.
  • Minimum of ten venture financings using NVCA documents.
  • Bar Admission in California is required.
  • Experience in domestic mergers and acquisitions transactions, especially for startup companies and investors.
  • Proactive with a strong business sense and ability to manage client and counsel relationships effectively.
  • Experience working in a premier corporate practice.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Bar Admission in California.

Skills:

  • Excellent business and legal problem-solving skills and judgment.
  • Ability to concisely and effectively communicate complex legal matters.
  • Entrepreneurial and forward-thinking mindset.
