Job Overview

A highly regarded business and litigation law firm headquartered in North Carolina’s Research Triangle region is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Associate to join its growing Construction Law Practice Group. This role offers the opportunity to work with a team of nationally respected attorneys on a variety of high-value construction litigation and transactional matters. Location

  • Raleigh, North Carolina

Duties

  • Support litigation and arbitration of complex construction disputes including delay, disruption, and defect claims

  • Assist in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing construction contracts for owners, developers, general contractors, and design professionals

  • Collaborate closely with partners and senior attorneys on both contentious and non-contentious construction matters

  • Conduct legal research, prepare memoranda, and draft pleadings and other legal documents

  • Participate in depositions, hearings, and client strategy sessions

  • Engage directly with clients, offering practical legal counsel and solutions

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in litigation and/or transactional contracting at a mid- or large-sized law firm

  • Interest in construction law is required; prior experience in construction litigation or construction contracts is preferred but not mandatory

  • Prior experience in construction, engineering, or architecture (before or during law school) is a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

  • Strong academic credentials required

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in North Carolina or ability to obtain licensure promptly
