Job Overview: A law firm seeks a skilled and experienced Public Companies Resource Attorney to support its Public Companies practice group. The ideal candidate will be responsible for staying abreast of legal and regulatory developments, assisting in client communication, developing practice resources, and ensuring the efficient operation of the practice group.

Duties:

  • Keep current on all legal and regulatory developments relevant to the Public Companies practice group.
  • Develop topics for and assist in the preparation of client alerts and similar publications.
  • Develop practice resources to enhance know-how exchange within the Public Companies practice group.
  • Create, maintain, and update archives of work products and know-how within the practice group.
  • Maintain and update forms and templates for the Public Companies practice group.
  • Provide information to the Marketing department for business development opportunities.
  • Coordinate with Professional Development to enhance skills development.
  • Coordinate with Information Services to assess and develop new technologies for efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Must be a licensed attorney with significant prior experience in Public Company practice.
  • 5 years of experience representing Public Companies in reporting and Corporate Governance.
  • Mastery of substantive areas within the Public Company practice.
  • Knowledge of industries regularly advised by the firm.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident and engaging presenter.
  • Strong intellectual, interpersonal, and technical skills.
  • Self-starter and team player.
  • Organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.

Education and Certifications:

  • Law degree from an accredited institution.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility for admission.

Skills:

  • Legal research and analysis.
  • Client communication and relationship management.
  • Drafting legal documents and publications.
  • Presentation and public speaking.
  • Project management and coordination.
  • Technological proficiency in legal research tools and software.
