Job Title: Environmental Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A respected law firm based in Tupelo, MS, is currently seeking a motivated legal professional to join its growing environmental practice. This opportunity is ideal for an associate with 2-6 years of focused experience in environmental regulatory compliance, litigation, and/or transactional advisory work. The role provides an engaging platform to handle complex environmental legal matters while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative legal setting.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on federal, state, and local environmental regulations and compliance strategies

  • Draft and review environmental provisions in contracts and transactional documents

  • Represent clients in administrative proceedings and environmental litigation matters

  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, motions, and discovery documents

  • Engage in client communication and support senior attorneys in case strategy and execution

  • Monitor updates in environmental law and guide emerging regulatory trends

Requirements:

  • 2 to 6 years of relevant legal experience in environmental law (regulatory, transactional, and/or litigation)

  • Strong legal writing and analytical skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Proven experience managing multiple assignments and deadlines

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

  • Academic achievement in the top 25% of the graduating class is preferred

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

  • Ability to become licensed in Mississippi, if not already

Skills:
