Job Overview

A law firm seeks a senior associate to join its project finance team in Washington, D.C. The role focuses on debt and tax equity financings and related development work for renewable energy assets, including solar, wind, and storage. Seattle is the preferred location, but candidates interested in Washington, D.C. are also considered.

Duties

  • Structure, negotiate, and close construction and term debt facilities and tax credit monetization transactions.
  • Draft and negotiate financing agreements, security documents, and related deal documents.
  • Manage due diligence and coordinate cross-functional teams from term sheet to closing.
  • Lead and execute financing transactions, acquisitions, and joint ventures of projects and platforms.

Requirements

  • JD and active bar membership in good standing; ability to gain admission where required.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in debt and tax equity project finance and M&A, with substantial renewables experience.
  • Proven ability to run transactions independently and manage timelines.
  • Strong grasp of tax equity structures and partnership tax concepts.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication, and project management skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in good standing.
