Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking a highly experienced Associate Attorney to join its Energy & Infrastructure practice in the Washington, D.C. office. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile, complex domestic and international transactions in sectors such as renewables, hydrogen, infrastructure, mining, LNG, and decarbonization technologies. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience with U.S. domestic renewable energy projects and the ability to manage all aspects of these transactions.

Location:

  • Washington, D.C.

Duties:

  • Lead and manage U.S. renewable energy transactions, including solar, wind, energy storage, and alternative fuels

  • Draft, negotiate, and review project documentation and related transactional agreements

  • Provide legal counsel on large-scale infrastructure and energy projects (e.g., hydrogen, nuclear, transmission, LNG, petrochemicals)

  • Advise on regulatory, commercial, and operational matters affecting the energy sector

  • Collaborate with cross-border teams and contribute to global project execution

  • Engage in business development and support long-term client relationships

Requirements:

  • 5 to 10 years of relevant legal experience (Class years 2014–2020 preferred)

  • Background in domestic U.S. renewables strongly preferred

  • Experience managing large-scale transactions from inception to close

  • Familiarity with project finance or infrastructure-related deals

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar admission in District of Columbia (depending on office location)

Skills:

  • Strong drafting, structuring, and negotiation skills for energy project documentation

  • Deep knowledge of energy regulatory frameworks and transactional risks

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

  • Strong project management and organizational skills

  • Ability to operate independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, international practice
