Job Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking a mid-level Associate Attorney with 5+ years of experience in trademark and copyright law. This role involves engaging in sophisticated legal matters for prominent domestic and international clients, including trademark prosecution, opposition proceedings, anti-counterfeiting strategies, and comprehensive IP planning. The position provides an opportunity to join a nationally recognized IP team handling cutting-edge legal challenges in the trademark and copyright field.

Location:

  • Atlanta, GA

Duties:

  • Manage U.S. and international trademark prosecution

  • Handle opposition and cancellation proceedings before the TTAB

  • Advise clients on global anti-counterfeiting strategies

  • Develop and implement comprehensive IP enforcement plans

  • Provide strategic counseling on brand protection and IP portfolio management

  • Collaborate with clients on litigation and transactional matters as needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of direct, relevant experience

  • Prior experience in a law firm IP practice or equivalent in-house legal department

  • Demonstrated ability to manage trademark portfolios independently

  • Strong client-service orientation and communication skills

  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

  • Strong academic credentials preferred

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (multiple bar admissions preferred)

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and writing skills

  • Critical thinking and analytical reasoning

  • Effective project and time management

  • Familiarity with USPTO and TTAB procedures

  • Proficiency with IP docketing and portfolio management systems
