Job Overview:
A law firm based in Scranton, PA, is actively seeking a seasoned litigation attorney to manage a variety of general liability matters across Pennsylvania and New Jersey. This role offers a hybrid or fully remote option and involves handling cases from inception through resolution, including court appearances, depositions, legal analysis, and document drafting. The position is well-suited for an attorney with a strong litigation background and a proactive, strategic mindset.

Duties:

• Manage a full caseload of general liability matters in both PA and NJ jurisdictions

• Draft pleadings, legal memoranda, and dispositive motions

• Conduct and defend depositions of parties and witnesses

• Respond to written discovery and handle pre-trial proceedings

• Represent clients in court and during oral arguments

• Provide thorough legal analysis and develop defense strategies

• Communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel

Requirements:

• Active licensure to practice law in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil litigation, preferably in defense

• Proficiency in drafting litigation documents and managing complex cases

• Background handling matters related to general liability, premises liability, and auto defense

• Demonstrated ability to conduct depositions and deliver oral arguments

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Bar in Pennsylvania and New Jersey
