Job Title: Labor And Employment Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A Los Angeles-based law firm is seeking a litigation-focused attorney with early-stage experience in labor and employment matters. This opportunity is suited for a driven professional who is comfortable handling a variety of workplace disputes, including individual lawsuits and class-based claims. The role also offers exposure to counseling employers on policy development, training, and regulatory compliance. The firm values precision, strong writing abilities, and a collaborative approach to legal practice.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in single-plaintiff employment litigation, including claims related to harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful discharge

  • Participate in collective and representative actions, including class actions and PAGA (Private Attorneys General Act) matters

  • Draft and argue motions, prepare pleadings, and manage the discovery phases of litigation

  • Take and defend depositions; conduct administrative hearings when required

  • Advise clients on day-to-day workplace legal issues and policy compliance

  • Draft employee handbooks, workplace policies, and other compliance documentation

  • Deliver legal training sessions and preventative guidance to employer clients

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in employment litigation or advisory practice

  • Familiarity with both individual and class/representative action frameworks under California labor laws

  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with team members across practice areas

  • Demonstrated aptitude for managing litigation deadlines and competing case priorities

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California State Bar

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and persuasive writing ability

  • Strong oral advocacy and communication skills

  • High level of organization and attention to detail

  • Comfort with complex legal analysis and evolving labor laws

  • Team-oriented with a proactive and client-focused approach
