A law firm is seeking a Benefits And Executive Compensation Associate Attorney for its Indianapolis, IN, location. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience and possess the following qualifications:

Job Overview:

  • Provide legal counsel and guidance on employee benefits matters, including qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, fiduciary governance, and nonqualified plans.
  • Advise on compensation and benefits issues in corporate transactions, including ESOP transactions.
  • Demonstrate excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and a problem-solving attitude.
  • Possess strong academic credentials and intrinsic motivation.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on employee benefits compliance and regulations.
  • Draft and review legal documents related to employee benefits and executive compensation.
  • Assist with the design, implementation, and administration of employee benefit plans.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant statutes, regulations, and case law.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and departments on corporate transactions involving benefits and compensation matters.
  • Provide training and guidance to clients and colleagues on employee benefits issues.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar in Indiana or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.
  • 4-6 years of experience in employee benefits law, preferably in a large law firm setting.
  • Strong understanding of ERISA, tax, and other relevant laws and regulations.
  • Experience with qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and executive compensation arrangements.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Certifications:

  • Certification in Employee Benefits Law (CEBS) or a similar credential is preferred.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.
