Job Overview:

A Chatham, NJ-based law firm is seeking a seasoned attorney with a robust background in employment litigation to join its litigation practice group. This role involves independently managing a diverse caseload of employment law matters, advising corporate clients, and leading case strategy from start to resolution. The position is hybrid, offering a mix of in-office and remote work, with a collaborative team environment and a focus on high-quality client service.

Duties:

  • Lead management of employment litigation cases for corporate clients in NJ and NY

  • Handle all phases of litigation, including:

    • Case evaluation and strategic planning

    • Drafting pleadings, discovery, and motion practice

    • Conducting and defending depositions

    • Representing clients in hearings, mediations, and arbitrations

    • Preparing for and attending the trial

  • Maintain regular and proactive communication with clients and internal teams

  • Supervise support staff and junior attorneys as needed

  • Ensure compliance with all court rules and deadlines

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of dedicated experience in employment law litigation

  • Demonstrated ability to handle cases autonomously from start to finish

  • Experience managing multiple client matters concurrently

  • Admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York

  • Willingness to work in the office a minimum of two days per week, with flexibility as needed

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Bar admission in New Jersey and New York (required)

  • Bar admission in Pennsylvania and/or Connecticut (preferred)

Skills:

  • Superior legal writing and research capabilities

  • Strong organizational and case management abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Effective leadership and problem-solving qualities

  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities

  • Familiarity with E-discovery processes

  • Traditional labor law knowledge is a plus

Job Location:

  • Chatham, NJ (Hybrid schedule required; minimum two in-office days weekly)
