Job Overview:

A well-respected California labor and employment law firm is seeking a mid-level litigation attorney to join its Sacramento-based team. This position offers a collaborative and growth-oriented environment focused on labor and employment matters, including individual and class action litigation. The ideal candidate will support partners in litigation and counseling tasks while developing a strong foundation for long-term advancement, including partnership track consideration.

Location:

  • Sacramento, California

Duties:

  • Handle discovery, prepare motions, and conduct depositions and witness interviews

  • Assist partners with litigation strategy and pretrial preparation

  • Represent employer clients in employment litigation matters

  • Provide day-to-day legal counsel to employers on issues including hiring, terminations, and compensation

  • Conduct legal research and draft opinion letters, legal memoranda, and pleadings

  • Participate in client development and networking opportunities

Requirements:

  • 2–4 years of litigation experience required

  • Prior experience in employment litigation and/or class or representative actions is a plus

  • Must be a current member of the California State Bar

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active and good standing membership with the California State Bar

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent legal research and analytical skills

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities

  • Detail-oriented and adaptable with sound professional judgment

  • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of clients and colleagues
