Associate Attorney needed for New London office

A law firm in New London, CT, is seeking an Associate Attorney to handle housing law cases and assist with general legal matters. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, be admitted to practice law in Connecticut, and possess excellent communication skills.

Duties:

• Attend housing court in various locations throughout Connecticut
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and agreements related to housing law
• Assist with case management and preparation for litigation
• Manage court schedule and arrange per diem coverage
• Communicate with clients regarding housing cases, real estate closings, and general law issues
• Assist in firm marketing and management
• Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to the practice area

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to practice law in the state of Connecticut
• Ability to learn legal software systems (Lawmatics and Qualia)
