Job Title: Senior-Level Real Estate Business Law Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm located in Madison, WI, is seeking an experienced Senior Real Estate Business Law Attorney to join their growing business law team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, financing, leasing, and development. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex matters while contributing to a dynamic practice.

Duties:

  • Lead the negotiation and drafting of agreements for commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, leases, and financing.
  • Provide legal guidance on the development, financing, and sale of commercial properties and projects.
  • Advise clients on zoning, permitting, construction, and environmental compliance issues.
  • Review and manage title reports, property tax assessments, and other real estate-related legal documents.
  • Assist clients in structuring and implementing tax-efficient real estate transactions.
  • Support clients with the formation and management of condominium associations.
  • Provide strategic counsel on corporate structuring and business planning about real estate transactions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in commercial real estate and business law.
  • Expertise in negotiating and drafting complex real estate agreements.
  • Extensive experience with the sale, purchase, and development of commercial properties.
  • Knowledge of financing and secured transactions, title review, construction law, and environmental considerations.
  • Strong background in corporate planning, tax planning, and business structures related to real estate.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage significant, complex transactions with a creative and practical approach.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external partners.

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Wisconsin.
