A law firm in Houston is seeking a Mid-Level Class Action Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of litigation experience. The ideal candidate should have a strong academic background from nationally recognized schools, preferably with experience in class action defense, complex commercial litigation, securities, and consumer litigation. Superior writing, research, and analytical skills are essential for this role, along with the ability to navigate and take ownership of a multi-matter docket.

 

Duties:

  • Handle class action defense, complex commercial litigation, securities, and consumer litigation matters.
  • Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence in an efficient and responsive manner.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and quality work product.
  • Successfully meet deadlines, expectations, and perform work duties as required.
  • Foster positive work relationships.
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in both physical and sedentary activity, such as working at a computer for extended periods of time, including on-screen reading and typing; participating in digital/virtual conference calls; participating in meetings as needed.
  • Perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of litigation experience, preferably gained while practicing at an AmLaw 100 firm.
  • Strong academic background from nationally recognized schools.
  • Previous federal clerkship is a plus.
  • Experience with class action defense, complex commercial litigation, securities, and consumer litigation is highly preferred.
  • Superior writing skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar (active and in good standing).

 

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to navigate and take ownership of a multi-matter docket.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
