A law firm in Houston is seeking an experienced Senior Attorney with a minimum of 6 years of expertise in drafting litigation documents, particularly in health care, ERISA, and commercial litigation matters. The successful candidate should possess strong communication, drafting, and interpersonal skills and demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. The role involves reviewing and drafting various legal documents, effective communication with clients and professionals, and ensuring timely, accurate, and quality work products.

 

Duties:

  • Reviewing and drafting discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda.
  • Utilizing strong project management skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Producing deliverables, answering phone calls, and responding to correspondence promptly and efficiently.
  • Providing timely, accurate, and quality work products.
  • Meeting deadlines and expectations and performing work duties as required.
  • Undertaking any other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.
  • State and federal court experience is a plus.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in drafting litigation documents, including motions to dismiss, written discovery, and summary judgment motions in health care, ERISA, and commercial litigation matters.
  • Strong academic background from a nationally recognized school.
  • Transferable skills showcasing the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Excellent communication, drafting, and interpersonal skills.

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the state.

 

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research and analysis.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with state and federal court procedures is a plus.
