The Tax Associate Attorney will provide comprehensive legal support in matters related to federal income taxation, focusing on taxable and tax-free mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, and corporate, partnership, and limited liability company formations. The ideal candidate must possess strong communication, analytical, and writing skills and be admitted to New York State practice.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on federal income tax issues.
  • Draft legal documents, including memos, opinions, and transactional documents.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on tax-related matters.
  • Assist in tax planning and structuring transactions to minimize tax liabilities.
  • Represent clients in tax disputes and controversies before administrative agencies and courts.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with a predominant focus on federal income taxation.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Admitted to practice in New York State.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in accounting.
  • LLM (Master of Laws) in Taxation.
  • Tax court clerkship experience.
  • Experience in an investment fund or other tax transactional work.
