Associate Attorney needed for New York City office

Job Overview: A law firm in New York City is seeking a highly skilled Associate Attorney to provide legal support to the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) and Strategy groups and FIG platform companies. The successful candidate will assist in various transactions, governance matters, fund-related issues, and commercial agreements while also building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Duties:

• Assist with transactions of varying scale and scope involving the FIG and/or Strategy groups or FIG platform companies.
• Support board administration and governance-related matters for the FIG platform companies.
• Provide general legal support to the FIG and Strategy groups and FIG platform companies.
• Build and maintain relationships with business leadership, portfolio managers, and other stakeholders.
• Assist with fund-related legal matters.
• Review and draft commercial agreements for in-house legal and FIG platform companies.
• Counsel on disclosures and marketing materials.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission is in good standing at the New York Bar.
• Minimum 6 years of legal experience.
• 6+ years of relevant legal experience in M&A, preferably at a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department of a registered investment advisor, hedge fund, or fund of funds.
• Experience advising asset management firms is preferred.
