Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a skilled and experienced Private Equity Associate Attorney to join their team. The candidate will play a pivotal role in representing middle-market private equity funds and their portfolio companies, with a primary focus on mergers and acquisitions. The individual will collaborate with partners, ensuring efficient communication and high-quality legal services to clients. The position requires adherence to firm policies, meeting deadlines, and engaging in both physical and sedentary activities.

Job Duties:

  • Represent middle-market private equity funds and their portfolio companies in mergers and acquisitions.
  • Collaborate with partners on a diverse range of legal matters for various clients.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and respond to correspondence efficiently and responsively.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and high-quality work products.
  • Meet deadlines, and expectations, and perform required work duties successfully.
  • Foster positive work relationships within the firm.
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in physical and sedentary activities, including working at a computer, participating in digital/virtual conference calls, and attending meetings as needed.
  • Perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • J.D. degree.
  • 3-5 years of transactional law experience.
  • Admitted to practice in Illinois.
  • Direct and applicable AmLaw 100 law firm or SEC experience.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with partners and clients.
  • Proficient in meeting deadlines and managing workload.
  • Adherence to ethical and professional standards.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice in Illinois.
