Associate Attorney

A law firm in Brooklyn, NY, is seeking an Associate Attorney to work on various legal matters, including taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing motions, and participating in trials. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn from mentors, including more senior attorneys and partners, and must possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to continuously learn and improve.

Duties:

• Take and defend depositions.
• Draft legal motions and argue them in court.
• Participate in trial proceedings.
• Collaborate with mentors, peers, and senior attorneys on case strategies.
• Conduct legal research and analysis.
• Provide legal counsel to clients.
• Maintain organized case files and documentation.
• Assist in negotiation and settlement discussions.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in insurance defense litigation or a related field (e.g., workers' compensation, No-Fault).
• Excellent research, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a legal team.
• Positive attitude and a commitment to personal and professional growth.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
