Associate Attorney needed for Salt Lake City office

Job Overview:
A growing law firm is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with at least two years of experience in general insurance defense to join its Salt Lake City, Utah office. Location:

• Salt Lake City, Utah

Duties:

• Manage a substantial caseload involving civil litigation and insurance defense

• Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery

• Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda

• Take and defend depositions, including parties and expert witnesses

• Review case files, draft evaluations, and prepare client status reports

• Assist in all phases of trial preparation and participate in mediations and court appearances

• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and colleagues in a professional and timely manner

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of general insurance defense litigation experience

• Licensed to practice law in Utah state and federal courts

• Admission in additional surrounding states (preferred)

• Experience with civil litigation in areas such as medical malpractice, premises liability, and professional liability

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license in good standing with the Utah State Bar

• Admission to federal district courts in Utah

Skills:

• Strong legal research and analytical skills

• Excellent written and oral communication abilities

• High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills

• Ability to independently manage multiple cases and deadlines

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal research tools

• Familiarity with both state and federal court procedures
