A law firm based in Greensboro, NC, is seeking a Patent Agent with experience in Intellectual Property (IP), particularly in drafting and patent prosecution. The ideal candidate will have a background in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field. Design engineering experience with a chip company is advantageous, and candidates with expertise in networking, software, 3G/4G/5G wireless networks, or similar areas are preferred. Applicants must be admitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and possess 2-6 years of legal experience.

Duties:

  • Draft patent applications and respond to Office Actions.
  • Conduct prior art searches and assess patentability.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and inventors to develop patent strategies.
  • Provide technical support during patent litigation proceedings.
  • Assist in managing patent portfolios and maintaining accurate records.

Requirements:

  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-6 years of legal experience, preferably in patent prosecution.
  • Strong understanding of Intellectual Property laws and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Skills:
